The company Jie Gantofta Sweden was founded in the year 1942. The founder John Evert ”Jie” Johnson build a company specialized in the most magnificent gifts and household items. In their time Jie Gantofta Sweden made countless artworks. Sadly in the year 1992 the company went bankrupt.
Jie Gantofta Sweden is known under three names. Jie Keramik, known because this was the company original name. Jie Gantofta Sweden, known from their logo in the Walt Disney artworks. Jie Art, known because of the Jie Art Walt Disney Collection.
Jie Art Walt Disney Collection
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Jie Gantofta Sweden created the Jie Art Walt Disney collection. These artworks were modeled by Joakim Lindstrup. They can be small, simple yet elegant. Other artworks are in magnificent wooden frames and tell a story or share a piece of wisdom. Yet other artworks are based on the style of the legendary artist Andy Warhol.
These artworks were modeled after the characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore. These Walt Disney characters are depicted solo or together, depending on the artwork.
